1940-1970 was full of technology breakthroughs for the brand! From 1940-1950 Philips researched transistors and integrated circuits, leading the way for this technology. In 1949 they introduced Philips Synchrocyclotron, which allowed some of the first research in the world about malignant tumors. Today our music and recordings are all sourced online. We download, upload and use our phones for just about anything we can. Back in the day, cassette tapes not only played music but they were also used for tape recording. You could record conversations on tapes, radio stations broadcasted using tapes and so much more. Philips launched the compact audio cassette, which led the global standard for tape recording!
